In lieu of flowers, Sandy's family has asked for donations to be made to Our Little Roses Foreign Mission Society.
Sandy's daughters, Karen Jacobs, and Lori Johnson, along with her granddaughter Lauren Jacobs have been involved with the OLR mission of transforming and empowering girls in Honduras through education and love for many years.

Our Little Rose's mission is to provide girls who have been born into situations of abject poverty, neglect, and abuse with the chance to find joy and become strong, independent women. After 35 years of ministry, we can see the impact - the chains of generational poverty have been broken!

Sandra Claire Jacobs (84) of Longwood, FL passed away Sunday June 25, 2023 at The Grove at Trelago surrounded by her children. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Don Jacobs. She is survived by her children Greg, Karen, David (Ellen), Lori (Tony Johnson). Sandy was also blessed with 6 grandchildren: Chris Jacobs, Alexa Johnson, Caleigh Johnson, Lauren Jacobs, Anthony Johnson, and Aaron Jacobs.

Sandy was born in Detroit, MI to Clarence and Helen Buck. Sandra was one of 3 children.

Sandy spent her life caring for others. As a child, she lived in Port Ryerse, Canada where at age 7, she lost her father. She helped raise her younger brother Tom who currently resides in Dallas, TX. After Sandy’s father died her mother moved the family to Buffalo and began working as a hostess at the famous Peter Stuyvesant Hotel. Sandy and Tom had Sunday dinners in the hotel and during the week ate at the YMCA. Sandy was very studious growing up and had a passion for becoming a nurse.

Sandy met her husband Don, a friend of her brother, while living in Buffalo. Sandy started nursing school when she was 18 and she and Don were married the next year. Sandy worked full time as a nurse and soon after they started their family. Sandy and Don were married for 62 years before her husband passed in 2021. The family lived in Longwood, Fl.

Sandy loved being a mom to her four children. She continued nursing until her third child was born. After raising her children, she went back into the work force in the real estate business. Sandy was a huge success as a Realtor with her engaging smile, bright blue eyes and open heart.

Sandy loved helping people and her greatest love was her children. She always had time for her kids—cooking a homemade meal, helping them move, decorating their houses. Sandy was known for her huge smile and a fresh platter of homemade cookies. Sandy loved family gatherings and would always host the holiday festivities in her home. Nothing made her happier than to make a meal from scratch and spend weeks preparing for these festivities.

The funeral will be a private celebration of Sandy’s life with only close family members present. It will be held on Sunday July 16 at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
